A Brutal Day At The Launch Field Yesterday...

Yesterday, December 2nd - another Front Range group launch at Dove Valley Park in Centennial -

Here's a pic of the pile of mishap victims I brought home.

75 percent of my flights went very wrong!  Yikes!

The Wasp glider didn't even make it as far as powered flight before it was damaged.

Some days are just better than others!

I'll have a full launch report posted here in a few days.

Stay Tuned......

  1. I had two gliders snap in half on boost this summer, an Edmonds Twinsee and an Semroc Hawk. Neither made it more than fifty or so feet before they became confetti. No, three! I also had a NAR Jet Freak behead itself when the ejection charge fired. Looking forward to the entry.

  4. Hi Bill,
Yep, gliders are usually more difficult to keep for long. If they don't disintegrate or break, they get thermaled away!

    1. HA! Yeah, like something I build would know a thermal from a Polar Vortex.

  5. Hi, Goose,
Yep, the only one that won't get rebuilt is the blue Quest Big Rage. It is way too roached. The only thing salvageable is the plastic fin can. The glider was broken during trim tossing. One improper throw sent it on a 'stall-and-nose-dive".
